Åtte stykker. Åtte land. Et stort problem.

I ArtLab # 16 får publikum møte et team av amerikanske scenekunstnere som driver prosjektet The Arctic Cycle. De skriver:

Over the next decade, The Arctic Cycle will develop and produce U.S. and international premieres of eight plays by playwright Chantal Bilodeau, set in the eight countries of the Arctic. Using the power of storytelling to investigate the challenges posed by climate change, the plays will chronicle our evolving relationship to the human and natural worlds and examine how our new reality affects who we are and how we live. In addition, operating on the principle that complex problems must be addressed through collaborative efforts, each play will engage artists across disciplines as well as geographic and cultural borders; solicit input from earth and social scientists; and actively seek community and educational partners to expand the scope of the plays and provide strategies for action.

I ArtLab # 16 - Fram vil de arbeide med stykket "Forward".

Progressing backwards from present day to 1895, when Fridtjof Nansen established a record for sailing closest to the North Pole, Forward, the second play of the Cycle, presents a poetic history of climate change in Norway. The play looks at a series of seemingly unrelated characters confronting small, day-to-day challenges, and making choices that seemed innocent at the time but turned out to be important markers in history. Woven through these stories is the passionate love affair between Nansen and Ice.

Bakgrunnsstoff

Aggie Frosts stemme skal representere den polare isen

På ArtLab # 16 "Fram" skal Aggie Frosts stemme og musikk representere den polare isen.

Her er litt om Aggie: Aggie Frost is a renowned Norwegian singer, composer and producer within the field of electronic music. She is most known for the alt-pop duo Frost, collaborating with Per Martinsen. As a composer, she works with processed sounds using field recordings and her dreamy and melancholic voice. Aggie also works with art installation combining video, sound and performance. Sometimes she can be seen on stage acting through her alter-ego Femme Digitale. She hails from Tromsø and is very much inspired by her Arctic surroundings. She has a special family connection to Spitsbergen, where she performed live with Frost in the Russian ghost town of Pyramiden in 2012. She is really frightened of Polarbears.
